The floor techniques segment of our training routine today was a highly inspiring sight to behold, for, without prior discussion, each and every member was doing his best to incorporate what he interpreted of the advice that our OBs had so generously dispensed into not only his attacking stances, but also paying well-heeded attention to exploiting the vulnerabilities of the technique when forced to defend.
After we finished our sparring rounds for our standing techniques, 寺田先輩 took some questions and then gave us some further advice on fine-tuning the Triangle Choke.

As one of the twin pillars at the core of the art of Judo, floor techniques are an important constituent of not just the spirit of Judo itself, but are also an indispensable part of our club’s tradition, and thus, an eventuality simply too significant to neglect. And work hard we will, as we continue on this never-ending journey that is Judo!
